Cities need

Cities around the world are suffering from air pollution, noise pollution and increasingly dense car traffic. In connection with the desired CO2 reduction, e-mobility is rapidly gaining momentum worldwide. But the electric car is only part of the solution, because it is also important to reduce the overall consumption of resources, energy and space, especially in urban areas.

Nevertheless, even if the distances to be covered in cities are often short, the desire for individual mobility remains, even with well-developed local public transport. It is precisely at this point that light electric vehicles, or LEV for short, are an excellent solution. With low energy and space consumption, they cover the needs of individual transportation in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner.

Small LEVs are also a first-class solution for courier services and other service companies in city logistics, on the so-called “last mile”. In order to establish LEVs on the market, both transport policy and infrastructural measures must be taken, because this is the only way consumer acceptance and demand will increase.

Against this background, the idea arose to create a cluster that is explicitly dedicated to establishing light electric vehicles and driving forward their innovative development.
