When talking to visitors to the exhibition, it quickly became clear that many would like to do without their car, but that the bicycle as an alternative is often not sufficient for their different needs.
That it is with dHardly any of the visitors knew that there are now many vehicle solutions tailored to different needs in the segment of electric light mobility and so there were many aha experiences and great praise for the informative exhibition.
There was great interest in car alternatives, particularly among the older audience. People here want individual mobility for shopping, meeting in the local area and visiting the doctor.
The Hopper was particularly popular with this target group, as it is equipped with three wheels and not only offers stability, but also allows two people plus luggage to ride.
The kickTrike cargo scooter also impressed this age group as a great mobility alternative and an adequate shopping aid. The only downer for those interested is that both vehicles are not yet in series production.
In summary, it can be said that transporting purchases and driving as a couple is a priority for the 50 target group. Other basic requirements are stability, i.e. the vehicle does not need to be balanced, and convenience, in terms of easy entry and exit and a comfortable seating position. Vehicle speed and range play a minor role or appear to be irrelevant for this target group.
The light mobility solutions for the older target groups also meet the demand for social justice, because it also enables older people and people with limited mobility to participate in transport individually and independently.
The MC E-Bike, the Ari E-cargo moped, the E-Schwalbe as well as the Ari 902 light car and the Ari 458 compact transporter were also available for a test drive behind the center. However, the high temperatures posed a challenge for the visitors, so many quickly fled back to the center.
However, those who didn't let the high temperatures and heat hold them back and took advantage of the opportunity were rewarded with an electrifying driving experience.
A light electric vehicle drives differently, and the liveliness of these vehicles simply convinced everyone and brought many smiles to the test drivers' faces.
In the end the only question left was: “How much will this cost me?”
Even though the younger generation may still dream of getting a driver's license at the age of eighteen and having their own car, their real interest is more in a two-wheeled solution. The main arguments here are the lower purchase price and the fact that you can simply drive past traffic jams and reach your destination more quickly. The iconic Schwalbe cult scooter scored points here with its robust design and lively suit.
Driving solutions that can be driven without a license are of course just as popular with younger people, but many older people were also impressed by the fun factor, such as the cool CoffeeCruiser from MC E-Bike. Practically everyone wanted to have this e-bike, which is also within the realm of possibility beyond a “job bike”. “Jobrad” was completely unknown to most interested parties, but was praised with astonishment.
With the Ari 902, the automotive industry is facing serious competition from the light vehicle sector. The two-seater impresses with a digital display, reversing camera, large trunk and modern design, making it in no way inferior to a conventional car. The fact that it can be charged using a conventional Schuko socket was also convincing.
The necessary transformation of transport has divided German citizens into two camps and so the street battle “car vs. bike” is now raging in public opinion formation. This event at least demonstrated to interested visitors that light mobility can be a link between these camps and an effective solution to our traffic problems.
At this point we would like to thank ALEXA once again for the opportunity to present the event and the exhibitors' sales teams for the great time.
